as long as keys cost so much neither new or the old system is worth buying keys..

So i will only buy few keys on double drop events like this one we had this weekend. otherwise keys r just a waste of money dropping crappy drops not worth the key u spent to open the chest.

I prefer the old way. The new way eliminates the standing around waiting for the first person to open it, but that isn't enough to overcome the old advantages of getting only one purple per eight keys given a good guild chest running group.

I chose chests drop different colors because it seems a little unfair to have someone open it first and then you get to see if it's a gold or not. Just seems like a cheap way out.

If the chests dropped 50/50 gold items maybe it'd be worth it, but ever since the update I havent gotten 1 gold. Pre-update gold chests seemed more common. And chests in elite areas should be guarenteed gold, esp FoW.... 1.5K per key when unid golds only sell for 1K... you need to wait and pray for the perfect req 8 shadow blade that will never come.

And IF you finally get one, you won't be getting profit, since you wasted 1000K on keys :P

Well, it's not that bad, but chest drops are rarely worth the keys. Unless you get stuff like ele swords, of course...

I voted for the old system. At least chest running was fun and useful then, now the whole team is stuck with 6 purples and maybe 1 gold :S

Used to cr and make some change, but since new system I havn't bought any keys and I havn't cr'd. Kinda killed the fun of cring for me, especially when people get so uptight about who opens first; it's classic and now that is gone.

It was also fun to see people open a grape chest, when it had already been opened.

I haven't made any less money from this system than I did from the other system. It does also eliminate the fact that people sit there and argue over who opens first, people who go and never open any chest cause it could be purple, e-drama, and blah it's better if everyone has to open it. Just laugh at them when they get a purple and they'll laugh at you when you get one. As long as you get one rare per trip I don't see the problem.

Because all you need is that one drop, if you're running in the right place...to pay for all the keys you bought and then some. 50k on keys running in the right place...that special drop comes...100k+20e just like that.

No preference for me. Chests suck in general no matter what system they have. Dont waste your money on chests.

Definitely the best system. Chests were cool when they were like that, a nice little addition to gameplay; I always made a beeline to a chest when I saw it. Even if they dropped junk, they were fun. The instant they implemented keys, they removed a fun aspect of the game. I never use chests now; keys are a complete waste of money, and if I get a key as a drop, I'll sell that instead because it's virtually guaranteed to be worth more than whatever I would get if I used it.

I put "I don't really have a preference". To be honest, I'd probably not like the system if it weren't for inscriptions/new mods, because now purples have a good use - good skins with changeable mods. Either way, I use to chest run solo, I still do, so it affects me not.

Now, when I'm out adventuring with my wife, yeah we would take advantage of the old system, but like I said, purples are alright, now. So, yeah, I'm indifferent.

I like the old system minus all the leechers. I'm fine with /roll 100 and if I land the lowest fine, I'll do it.

Not being a chest runner, I have gotten more golds with the random color chests, it seems the chances are more favorable for a non-chest runner like me.

Many of the recent update of inclined to casual players. Random chest drop is one of them, since chest drops now are influenced by the mystic "Anti-farm/bot" code. Also the double rate weekends we get recently also helps the casual players since they play mostly on weekends.

Definitely the new system. It means I can run alone without having to think about the higher% of golds I would be getting if I jumped into a cr group.

Better for it to be random so that people won't keep chest running and actually do other things. Too bad they didn't instate this when they first had the keys.

That just means greater disparity between new and old players' gold %.

IMO they ought to up the drop rate for golds from chests now that it is random.

i prefer the new system because it effectively eliminates leechers in pug cr groups.
